All Life Begins In Water.
90% of the plant itself is water.
It’s never too soon to prune
Tomatoes & Basil are the plants you’ll need to prune most often.
Thinning out squash leaves every once in a while can help prevent fungal diseases.
To prune tomato plants, remove all smaller stems growing between the larger stems to allow more nutrients to the larger stems baring fruits.
To prune basil plants, remove stems as shown above to propagate new stems as seen below.
Water is what enable nutrients to be released and transported to the plant. For that reason among many others, water your plants with intention using these few tips we’ve established in our care & maintenance routine.
1st Week
Water newly planted transplants more regularly for the first week.
TIMING
Morning is the best time to water your plants
ROOTS
When watering your plants, direct your hose to the roots of the plant.
FOLIAGE
The leaf, flowers and fruit of the plant also appreciates a good mist spray.
IRRIGATE
Installing an irrigation system can be a great way to get regular water to the roots of your plants.
DIG
Be sure to dig down into the soil every once in a while to see how far down the water penetrates so you can gauge how much water to be giving to your plants.
MULCH
Cover a thick layer of hay around the base of your plants tucking it in not showing any bare soil.
WHY IS MULCHING SO IMPORTANT?
It protects the soil from being exposed to too much weathering causing it to dry out quicker.
It gives the microbes in the soil something to feed on.
Also keeps weeds from sprouting up all over your garden.
